The Division of Histopathology was established on July 1, 1961 as the pathology department of the laboratory department. The Department of Pathology was formally established on April 1, 1970, and was transferred to the Medical Department. It was renamed the Division of Histopathology in July 1995.
The responsibility of the pathology department is mainly to study the changes of the disease and provide the results of clinic pathological diagnosis as the basis or reference for treatment. Therefore, the inspection operation must be accurate and fast in order to exert the greatest effect; therefore, the development of advanced immunological laboratory pathology and molecular biological pathology can provide better guarantee for correct and efficient pathological diagnosis, and clinicians can provide better quality for patient-centered treatment.
In recent years, thanks to the support and attention of the president and officials at all levels, the equipment has been continuously updated, and the training of technical personnel has become increasingly sophisticated, which has greatly improved the service of the pathology department at the medical level. |
